"I joined BP Retail after my A Levels – one of which,
Communications Studies, has been really useful in
helping me to read customers, so you know whether they
want to chat or simply buy petrol and go.
"Why did I join? Well, I live only a couple of minutes
away. I've always liked scanners! And someone I knew
who works here said so many good things that I had to
find out more for myself.
"I like the fact that you're given responsibility as
soon as you're ready to take it on. I quickly felt at
home on the tills here and, after I'd learnt all the
technical stuff, was soon able to serve customers on
my own.
"I enjoy the customer-aspect too. Once, a lady locked
her keys and mobile in her rented car on the way to
dinner at her sister's. I found the rental company's
number and asked them to come over – and rang her
sister to tell her she'd be delayed. The lady really
appreciated it."
