"When I first joined, I could easily see the difference between
retail at BP and elsewhere – because I had a part-time job here,
and another at a supermarket.
"Basically, the supermarket couldn't offer me a full-time job. So,
when one came up here, I jumped at the chance. That was almost ten
years ago. The business now is a lot different to the one I joined then.
"As well as the retail processes, the biggest changes have come
with M&S Simply Food. You have to remember more with M&S lines, on
top of your usual branded ones. But you get ongoing training, so you
never feel in over your head. And you can build on that with the

"I really rate the benefits. I joined the pension and share save scheme
soon after I joined, so I've a pretty big collection of shares now.
They give me a nice little dividend every quarter. And they're a great
way to build some savings, too."
