Roles

Everyone's a team at BP Retail. On shifts, in stores and across the country, you're the face of our business. And, as you'd expect of an ambitious retailer, we'll help you nurture your talents and make sure you're putting them to the best possible use – even if that means leaving the store environment and progressing on to become a Territory Manager or a similarly top-level role.

Smile programme

Smile Scheme

We really appreciate people who put the extra effort in. And our 'Smile' programme rewards Customer Service Assistants who do just that. They can earn Smile Points by completing activities linked to product launches and promotions. But importantly, managers can also give them points for being especially helpful, for example covering a shift at short notice. They can then cash Smile Points for vouchers to use at supermarkets and other retailers.

"I was in logistics before I had my little boy. All-in-all, I looked after him without working for three years. Obviously, I loved being with him. But I did miss the buzz of working. It didn't help that I was always going over the road to the Weldale BP Connect for milk and the like. I got on great with the team there, and they were always on at me to apply to work with them.

"Eventually, I applied, and it was one of the best decisions I've made. I've probably never worked so hard. But the friendliness of the teams, the way we pull together when it's busy, all the people you meet – I get so much satisfaction from my job.

"I've already done my Connections 1 so I can become a Duty Manager. And now I've just started Connections 2. Hopefully, I'll be able to have my own store one day. It's quite funny how well things have worked out, really. Originally I only ever thought it'd be something to tide me over part-time."
